Dog Project Class Offerings

Dog obedience, showmanship, agility, critter hunt, and dog bowl classes are open to all 4-H members in grades 3 and u4-H Dog Projectp.

All classes will meet in the Farm Progress Building at the fairgrounds. The dog training classes are as follows:

  • Dog Obedience/Showmanship classes will meet every Thursday until fair beginning April 21st. Beginners classes will start at 6:00 p.m. (1st and 2nd year students); Advanced classes (3rd year and up) will start at 7:15 p.m.
  • Dog Agility classes will meet every Tuesday until fair beginning on April 26th.  Beginner’s class (1st year students) will start at 6:00 p.m.; Advanced class (2nd year and up) will start at 7:00 p.m.
  • Critter Hunt classes will meet every Tuesday until fair beginning on May 3rd. This class will meet following Advanced Agility class. (Time may vary slightly week to week).

Obedience & Showmanship

For safety reasons, first and second year students must have a parent/adult attend each class to assist their child.

Agility

All students must have 1 year of obedience training completed to join this class.  All agility students must have a parent/adult attend each class for safety reasons and to help set up and tear down the course each night.

Critter Hunt

For safety reasons a parent/adult must attend classes with their child.  Critter Hunt will not be a premium class at the fair; it will be a demo class and prizes will be awarded.
