La Crosse County 4-H Shooting Sports Program

Archery & Pellet Gun Program

The 4-H ArcGirls at archery practicehery & Pellet Gun program is typically held from January through March on alternating Saturday mornings.  The overall focus of the program is the development of youth as individuals AND as productive, responsible citizens. This program is taught by caring, certified adults in a positive, safe learning environment. Safety will be emphasized and all youth will participate in a safety session at the start of the first session. Classes are typically held at La Crosse Archery (1231 Oak Forest Dr, Onalaska).


2017 Archery and Pellet Gun Program

The program will run the following Saturdays: January 14, 28; February 11, 25; March 11, 25;
and the Invitational will be April 7-8, 2017 (registration for this forthcoming).
Members must be in at least 3rd grade to sign up.

4-H Archery Invitational

The 2017 Invitational will be held April 7-8, 2017. Registration information will be posted closer to the time. 

NEW IN 2016: the post-program tournament will no longer have a separate fee for La Crosse County members who participated in the archery & pellet gun program.  La Crosse County members must have participated in the current year program to participate (separate registration for the invitational is required).  4-H members from surrounding counties are welcome to participate!  

4-H Trap Shooting Program

Two trap shooting programs are held each year (five sessions per program): one in the fall and one in the spring.  In these sessions (led by certified, experienced adult volunteers), youth learn how to shoot trap in a safe and fun environment.  Classes are typically held at the Gunslick Trap Club in Holmen, WI.  Participants must be at least 12 years of age and have a Hunter’s Safety Certificate.  Classes are held Monday evenings beginning at 6:00 p.m.
