Youth Leadership

Youth Leaders

“Every child has the potential to be a true leader. However, kids today say they are missing experiences that grow the life skills they need – like confidence, responsibility, independence and compassion. It is a serious problem now that will lead to a severe leadership void in the years to come – impacting communities across America, and nearly every industry and sector.”

Youth Ambassador Program

Being a 4-H Ambassador is a great honor – selected youth get to represent La Crosse County 4-H at community and county events and activities. Ambassadors participate in a wide variety of duties throughout the year, such as:

  • Assisting at festivals by presenting awards, ushering, and emceeing
  • Working at the county fair
  • Talking with community groups about 4-H
  • Visiting clubs to promote upcoming events
  • Visiting schools to recruit members
  • Participating in parades
  • Completing TV and/or Radio spots

The next Ambassador term will begin in October 2018 until August of 2019. Very few formal meetings are held as time is put in on event days. If you have additional questions about being an Ambassador, please contact the UW-Extension office.

Next Youth Ambassador Meeting: Sunday, November 18th at 3:00 p.m. at the UW-Extension office (212 6th St. N Room 2008, La Crosse)
